Chapel Stile, approximately 4 miles from Ambleside, is a picturesque village in the beautiful Langdale Valley. This area is a walkers paradise providing many walks from the doorstep in stunning scenery. There are also many interesting places to explore by car. The village has a walk round store, cafe, and the well known Wainwrights Inn serving bar meals, all within two minutes walk of the cottage, with alternatives nearby, including the well known Brittania Inn at Elterwater only half a mile away.
The cottage is a charming 18th Century white double fronted beamed cottage, retaining much of its original character, with some of the best views in the village. The cottage sleeps four, with two bedrooms upstairs, one double and one twin. It is ideal for exploring the many interesting places by car and it has many walks directly from the door.
Originally a quarry workers home in the centre of the village, a much photographed setting with its backdrop of church and mountains.
The small rear garden has a sunny aspect with garden furniture and views across the meadow to the mountains beyond. There are beautiful views from the dining area and lounge across the meadow to Lingmoor.
Parking for one car directly in front of the cottage The cottage is open plan downstairs with the lounge having colour TV,video, DVD, and music centre. There is a coal effect electric fire in a stone alcove and a storage radiator.
The kitchen has pine units, electric cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, washer, dryer, and storage radiator. The open plan stairs lead from the lounge to the upper floor with storage heating and bedrooms and bathroom with basin, toilet, and electric shower over the bath.
